6 Ways to Invest Beyond The Stock Market

Last week, I shared with you why it’s important to invest beyond the stock market and why it’s important to think outside the box.

This week I want to review six alternative investments you should add to your portfolio.

Because they typically are not highly correlated with stocks and bonds,

so-called alternative assets can be used to try to balance the risks and rewards of

such traditional investments as stocks and bonds.

Though they are not suitable for all investors, alternative assets can increase the diversification of a traditional portfolio.

If investing in alternative asset classes through a mutual fund, obtain and read the prospectus before investing.

Over the next several weeks and months, we will do a deep dive into these asset classes. You’ll learn not only why you should add them to your list of investments but all the ways to get started.
